Manzanillo will be probably by far the most important Mexican port. Lots of business would be established in this area. Commercial and Industry will be booming the next 10 years even though the international economic environment.

Because of its economic importance, the governor of the State of Colima will be from Manzanillo and that will encourage Manzanillo development, rising people quality of life.

Naturally Manzanillo will increase quality of service compared to developed countries standards. We will have some headquarters relocated in Manzanillo because of availability of qualify labor, availability of natural gas, energy, mining resources, premium location and companies looking for security, efficiency and better control of their international operations. It would be easier to do business in Manzanillo than in any one of the larger cities of Mexico.

Tourism industry will be developed shoulder to shoulder to the port development. They will be a great synergy doing more attractive this destination because of increasing number of connections, services, and quality of live.

On the other hand mining companies will expand dramatically their activities in Manzanillo doing their contribution to raise real estate values and demand of services.

Everything is ready for a boom in Manzanillo. Especially in this economic environments in which investors are looking for strong foundations and stability already built to raise the standards to a first world municipality in Mexico.

Jova Hurricane Category II, had a big potential of damage. The problem was not the wind; the problem was the huge amount of water coming with the storm.

Historically in Manzanillo Mexico we have had flooding problems in specific areas close the rivers, even though the government try to fix and prevent the flooding.

First, Manzanillo is surrounded by hills that can receive lots of water. Second, certain areas of Manzanillo are under the sea level. Imagine the water trying to go out to the ocean and at the same time the high waves make it difficult.

Manzanillo is going to be just perfect in a few days. Manzanillo Mexico has a great recovery potential because its importance to Colima State and Federal Government They will not leave it alone. We always have immediate response. In one week you will see Manzanillo totally recovered and clean.

On the other hand, the waves uncover old seawalls destroyed previously, which are the reason you will see dramatic pictures with oceanfront properties, but the damage is limited to bad constructions as a reminder that seawalls should be properly built.

Do not be worry; the loss of the sand on the beach never is a problem. Naturally the sand is recovered in a couple of weeks. Feel comfortable to come to this tropical paradise on the pacific coast. Manzanillo it is prettier that ever.

Facts:

There are a big economic problem on United States. The USD is loosing its value over the most of the word currencies.

US still drives the word economy. If US does not recover significantly, then emerging markets like Mexico, will not sustain their growth in the long term, until China and India become strong enough to lead the word economy. This will happen only if developing countries like Mexico are complementary to China and India economy, not trying to be a direct competition for the same activities.

Canadian and Mexican Economy are 85% related to US. it will be difficult to diversify the economy in the short term.

There are a huge number of properties in US, still falling their prices, that will take time to the market to digest. Also there is a second huge number of properties that still are not declare as part of the mortgage problem.

This huge number of properties o US market are a direct competition to Mexican tourist destinations.

There is a big problem of security in Mexico. News about Mexico in Canada and US are dramatic, overreacting and are affecting tourism and investment to Mexico. Crime rates per capita in big cities are still higher in some areas of mayor US cities than in Mexican cities.

Property prices in tourist destinations in Mexico already returned from the real estate boom before the crisis (2008) to normal prices of 2006.

Manzanillo properties never were overpriced, that is why there was not a falling of prices in this market.

70% of Manzanillo´s economy is not related to the tourist activity , it is related to logistics and the port activity and these activities will sustain jobs, investment and prices.

Properties on Manzanillo are not getting a significant surplus value this year 2011, but demand and prices of rentals are increasing.

Properties on the water, close to the ocean or with a great ocean view, always keep their value and always get a surplus value in Manzanillo.

Even though the security issues in some areas of Mexico, it is forecasted a growth over 5% for 2011, huge investment is flowing to Mexico from transnational companies relocating operations or increasing activities in Mexico. Central Bank reserves are 3 times the money circulating in the mexican economy and growing.
